I really can’t say enough good things about Laura Phelan. She’s been very supportive of Music4Life and the projects we work on and I thought it might be time to let some folks know about it.
We met around 2001, when I was the audio engineer at Unity Center Austin (now in Pflugerville) and she was our piano player. We had so many fun times together when she was there.
Many years later, we have reconnected and our whole family has been taking lessons with her for the past two years. The four of us in the family take lessons on Wednesday evenings and two of us rotate weekly. They read sheet music and learn traditionally; whereas, I am non-traditional for the most part since my focus is on creating parts for the tracks that I am building. Often when it’s time for my weekly lesson, we jump into a current riddim I’m building or a chord progression that I am developing. I enjoy all the variety and different things we work on and it is always fun and light with Laura when we connect. Hopefully after Covid is done, we can meet her again for lessons in person. For now we meet on FaceTime to do our lessons.
If you are looking for piano lessons in Round Rock or Austin area, or on Zoom I am sure you will enjoy working with Laura Phelan. You can text her on 512-947-1356 to connect.
